A fly fisherman casts into the Middle Fork of the Salmon River from atop a raft.

With over 100 miles of river to fish, be prepared to catch some!

The Middle Fork features all of the common species indigenous to Idaho, like Westslope Cutthroat, Rainbow Trout, and Whitefish. Most fish will range from 4 – 18 inches in length. All fishing on the Middle Fork is catch and release.

Fishing rafts with aluminum frames are available at an additional cost per angler.

Early Season (Late May – June) for this trip includes big whitewater. If you’re interested in rapids and adrenaline, the early season is a must! Be prepared for wetsuits and lots of action!

Mid Season (Late June – July) is prime for fishing. The water is calm, but not warm. The guides on this adventure know all the best fishing holes and flies to use!

Late Season (End of July – August) is great for the possibility to fly-in and have the river to yourself. There are less people towards the end of the season, and the water is calm and warm for drifting and swimming.

Fly to Boise, Idaho and take a small plane to Stanley or choose to rent a car and take the scenic drive. From there, you’ll spend a night in the small, rustic community for the evening.

At the end of the trip, you’ll be shuttled via bus back to Stanley. We recommend getting a room that evening to relax and enjoy the views!

TRIP REVIEWS

My husband and I took this trip to get away from work and relax for a week, and it was perfect! This was our first-ever fishing trip and it did not disappoint! The team at Got Fishing helped us to select this adventure since it matched our budget and our interests. There were lots of aspects about this trip to love aside from fishing, like hot springs and hikes along the way that we were not expecting. The guides were very polite and friendly, and the food was tasty! We really enjoyed mingling with the other guests on this adventure as well. We’re planning on going again next year!
