You’ll find that all of the guides here are the real deal, and they are a major contributing factor to a 60%+ rebooking rate for clients! They have taken a scientific approach to catching permit, and it has paid off – this lodge has landed over 2,000 permit to-date (in the past 10 years alone).

December – February: The weather during this time of year is typically very favorable, with low fishing pressure. Larger permit can usually be found seeking cooler water temperatures.

March – May: Spring is the most popular time to fish the Ascension Bay because of mostly sunny days and consistent fishing.

June – August: Summer here tends to be warmer, but less windy! Additionally, there is less fishing pressure because most anglers tend to head towards the mountains during this season.

September – November: This time of year is very similar to the spring season, but you will have to keep an eye out for possible hurricanes.

Fly to Cancun International Airport (CUN), where a representative of the lodge will meet you at the airport. From there, you will be shuttled by van to Boca Paila Bridge (which is approximately 1.5 hours). At this location you will transfer from the van to a boat, where guides will ferry to you the lodge.
