This hosted photography clinic is the pinnacle of fishing and photography! Experience world-class Rainbow Trout fishing while also capturing the ever changing landscapes and wildlife of Patagonia.

Strobel Lake, or more commonly known as “Jurassic Lake”, is one of the most remote, wild and sought after fishing destinations in the world! Located on the southern end of the famous Patagonian region in Argentina, this bucket list destination boasts the largest rainbow trout in the world. It is not uncommon to land multiple double digit rainbows in a day, with the real possibility of a 20+ pounder!

This trip will be open to 6 guests only, so please reserve your spot soon!

The lodge is a typical “Estancia house”. It has 10 single and double bedrooms with comfortable “en suite” bathrooms, with hot water 24/7. Single room lodging and guiding can be provided for an additional cost.

The spacious livingroom, overlooking Laguna Verde, is one of the best areas in the lodge. Anglers can sip on a cocktail while enjoying slide shows of the catches of the day on the 42´ LCD TV set. Satellite TV and a DVD player are available for entertainment as well.

For complete relaxation, there is a fly tying desk and library to enjoy when not fishing.

The staff at the lodge provide friendly and professional attention that shapes a relaxing and hassle-free atmosphere to guarantee guests have a truly unforgettable experience.

There is more to fish then just Jurassic Lake.

Anglers come to this area because of Jurassic Lake and the opportunity to hook into a 20 pound fish of a lifetime, but when you book a trip with Got Fishing and Estancia Laguna Verde you also have exclusive access to the famed Baracosso River, Moro Creek, and 12 smaller lakes and lagoons. This is why anglers return year after year – there is a lot to explore!

Over the years, the guides have learned that what impresses and amazes the anglers are the methods they use to catch these world record rainbows: sight fishing in gin-clear waters to cruising fish using floating lines, slow stripping small to medium size streamers and nymphs, skating big foam flies and mouse patterns, or even the famous “hopper-dropper” (hanging scuds and small nymphs from big dry flies). Estancia Laguna Verde is, undeniably the ultimate fly fishing experience!

6:00am Sunrise photos, with a knock on your door one hour before color if it is looking good.

7:30am Breakfast

8:30am – 4:30pm Depart with guides to selected fishing locations. Be prepared to stop along the way for wildlife photography. Arrive at destination and start fishing (unless some magic light is happening).

When a fellow angler hooks up, document the fight and capture underwater images and portraits of the angler and fish. Full day of guided fly fishing with breaks to capture photos as inspired.

5:30 – 7:00pm Enjoy appetizers at the lodge while downloading the day’s images. Abe will share editing tips and tricks in Adobe Lightroom on laptops or cell phones. Abe will cover file management, post processing and review of images.

7:00pm Dinner

8:30pm Continued post processing if desired.

10:00pm – 6:00am A good night’s rest, unless the sky is clear and there’s an opportunity to do some Astro/Milky Way photography.

Fly into El Calafate, Argentina where you will be greeted by a representative of the Estancia Laguna Verde Lodge. From there, a shuttel ride will take you to the lodge for seven days of fishing. At the end of your trip, return to El Calafate for the flight home.

The shuttle is not short, and can take up to four hours. But not to worry! The feedback we get time and time again is that the shuttle is part of the adventure and a great way to see the diverse scenery and vast landscapes. It’s just too beautiful to miss!
