Everett grew up in a small city in Southern Alberta Canada where there were no shortages of outdoor activities. It was here that he developed an unrelenting passion for the outdoors. As a child, he spent his summer days fishing for big, chrome rainbows on the Bow River and chasing upland and waterfowl in the rolling prairies during the fall. Even though the outdoors was his first love, there was another activity that tugged at his heartstrings, and that was the game of hockey. Just like every other Canadian child, Everett grew up with dreams of playing in the NHL.  He pursued this dream with everything he had; all while carrying his fly rod and shotgun right beside his hockey stick.

Although he never did make it to the NHL, Everett did manage to make it to the professional ranks. Everett played 4 seasons for the LA Kings affiliate in Ontario California and 1 more season for the Colorado Avalanche affiliate in Loveland CO. His professional career began after he completed 4 years of NCAA Division 1 college hockey at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester MA. During his college career, he served as team captain for his final two seasons and set a school record for most games played in the history of the program.  After retiring from professional hockey at the age of 30 he decided to try his hand at coaching. He is currently in his second season as the assistant coach of the Idaho Steelheads in the ECHL based out of Boise, ID.

Through this incredible journey that has been his career in hockey, Everett has had the chance to fish and hunt all across the continent. The “nomadic” lifestyle of the hockey player has allowed him to fish the Truckee in Lake Tahoe and the Tulpehoken in Pennsylvania and many places in between, including Edinburgh Scotland. While in Edinburgh, Everett had a chance to fish a private loch and catch monster rainbow trout!

When he is not in the hockey rink, Everett can be found wandering the foothills and rivers of Southwestern ID in search of his next quarry with his beautiful wife Kayla and their two traveling companions Boone (Weimaraner) and Stella (Red Fox Lab).

Let Everett help you with your next incredible adventure fishing trip!
