Discover the perfect blend of world-class fishing and high-volume wingshooting at the new Paraná River Lodge in Argentina’s Santa Fe Province. Nestled on the banks of the San Javier River Delta in the legendary Middle Paraná River system, this cast and blast program lets you target hard-fighting Golden Dorado in the morning and enjoy fast-paced dove shooting in the afternoon (or any combination that suits your energy and conditions).
Designed for both dedicated anglers and hunters (or those wanting to try both), the program offers complete flexibility. Each day features two sessions (morning and afternoon) that you can tailor with your guide’s input based on weather, water levels, and opportunities. Whether you’re a fly fisherman looking to add dove action or a wingshooter ready to experience explosive dorado strikes, this lodge delivers an unforgettable multi-species adventure in one convenient location.
The Paraná River Lodge stands out for its strategic position: dry-land access puts you just 15 minutes from prime hunting fields and fishing waters alike. With agricultural fields rich in sunflowers and sorghum attracting millions of doves, and the river delta’s maze of creeks, lagoons, and sandbars holding aggressive Golden Dorado, the “cast and blast” experience here is seamless and highly productive.
Paraná River Lodge offers comfortable, modern accommodations with a relaxed northern Argentine atmosphere. The lodge features 10 well-appointed rooms (singles and doubles available) with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and thoughtful amenities for up to 18 guests. A swimming pool, Starlink Wi-Fi, 24/7 electricity, and a private dock with direct river access complete the experience, making it an ideal base for both active days and restful evenings.
Cuisine highlights authentic Argentine flavors prepared fresh daily by the on-site chef. Expect hearty breakfasts to fuel your adventures, riverside lunches featuring local ingredients, and elegant dinners paired with selected Argentine wines. The all-inclusive open bar keeps beers, spirits, and wines flowing from cocktails at sunset through dinner, perfect for recounting the day’s highlights with fellow guests and guides. Warm hospitality and a laid-back vibe define the lodge experience.
The core of the Dove & Dorado Cast and Blast is its flexible, guide-driven program. Professional English-speaking guides help you design each day to maximize success, whether that means focusing on fishing, hunting, or mixing both. Fishing occurs from stable, custom-built North Carolina skiffs equipped with dual casting platforms, powerful outboards, and bow-mounted electric trolling motors – ideal for casting in the delta’s structure-rich waters.
Golden Dorado Fishing
Fishing targets hard-fighting Golden Dorado (often 5–20+ lbs, with larger fish possible), along with pira pita, tararira (wolf fish), surubí, and other natives. Techniques include fly fishing with streamers, poppers, or dries; light tackle; or spinning (bait fishing available on request). While the main river can be off-color, sight fishing opportunities arise in clearer lagoon “black waters,” and anglers look for nervous water, fins, and bait-chasing activity. Prime dorado season runs early October through early May, with strong action from September to mid-April.
High Volume Dove Hunting
Dove hunting delivers classic high-volume Argentine wingshooting across nearby agricultural fields. Millions of doves are drawn to the area’s sunflowers and sorghum, offering fast, exciting shooting nearly year-round (best volumes typically outside peak summer heat). Additional opportunities for Axis deer, wild boar, water buffalo, or partridge may be arranged. The lodge’s proximity to both activities makes switching between rod and shotgun effortless and efficient.
Guides scout daily and adapt plans to conditions. All fishing is boat-based; hunting is field-based with leases coordinated on-site.
Getting to the Paraná River Lodge is straightforward and well-supported. Most guests fly into Buenos Aires (EZE or AEP), overnight if needed, then take a short 45–50 minute domestic flight the next morning to Santa Fe (SFN) or Paraná (PRA). Lodge staff meet you at the airport and handle the comfortable ~2–2.5 hour van transfer directly to the lodge (Santa Fe offers a slightly shorter drive and stays within the same province).
The journey transitions quickly from city to wild delta landscape, giving you a true sense of entering Argentina’s legendary litoral region. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into the lodge and begin your customized cast and blast experience the following day. Return transfers follow the same efficient route, making connections back to Buenos Aires seamless.
The area feels remote yet accessible, with a subtropical vibe. Expect warm-to-hot daytime temperatures during peak seasons, milder shoulder periods, and the authentic rural charm of northern Argentina. Non-anglers or companions can enjoy the lodge, pool, scenery, or optional boat tours.
