On the first evening of this trip, guests will stay at Hotel Akerlund in Jokkmokk, which is approximately 2 hours from the airport.
On day two, guests will be transferred to the base camp which features rustic cabins (no running water, wood cook stoves, small solar panel for electricity, outhouse). Sleeping accommodations on this adventure are bunk-style rooms, with each room featuring 2-4 bunks. Although rustic, these cabins are an authentic part of this adventure!
On the way home, guests will again stay at Hotel Akerlund in Jokkmokk.
Fly fishing in Swedish Lapland offers anglers the chance to pursue Arctic grayling and brown trout in some of Europe’s most pristine waters. Known for their spirited fights and vibrant coloring, grayling are a favorite among fly fishers, often challenging even experienced anglers with their speed and agility. Meanwhile, the wild brown trout of this region grow to impressive sizes and provide unforgettable battles in the current-rich rivers.
The region’s unique Arctic ecosystem creates optimal conditions for these species to thrive. Anglers will explore unpressured waters surrounded by unspoiled wilderness, using techniques adapted for the northern environment. Whether casting dry flies or nymphing in swift currents, you’ll find both the fishing and the scenery to be remarkable. Guided by experts who know these waters intimately, this adventure promises an unparalleled fly fishing experience beneath the midnight sun.
