Alaska to fish the Arolik with Renfros Outfitters – August 2018
So my buddies and I had a bit of different adventure that Brian and Renfros outfitters played a key role in making successful. Brian had set us up with a once in a life time float down the Arolik river with Renfros outfitters. He kept in great contact with us for 6 months prior to the start of the trip so we were feeling good going in. But Mother Nature had different ideas. We made it one flight away from our camp when the pilot said the weather was not good and we had to turn around and go back to Bethal were we sat for two and half days. To make a long story short Wade from Renfros and Brian did everything they could to get us out but Mother Nature said no. Wade even refund us our money in full even though he flew three planes out initially. I would call that great customer service! And as mentioned Brain stayed connected with Wade the whole time! Again I call that customer service.
We flew back to Anchorage and decided to create our own adventure and to find some water and fish. We fished the Quartz, the Russian and the Deep River. Did get to see a crazy amount of silvers pushing up the Deep river. My buddie Ricky hooked one during one of those waves of fish and was trying to get around me to chase the fish when the fish yanked his rod out of his hand and it was gone But it was our time for some good luck for us and a fisherman down river saw it and grabbed with the rod with the fish still hooked! The best part of our trip was Travis Campbell from Renfros who would have been our guide saved our trip at no charge. He obviously had the week off and met us and allowed us to stay in a cabin with him on an island on the Kenai. We had a bueatiful stretch of wadable water right out our front door that the locals could not access. We had great sessions out there and caught lots of fish. The last fish I caught was a silver that really made my trip. I can not say enough about Brian, Renfros and Travis and how well they took care of us even though they had no incentive other than they wanted to take care of their customers even if your trip gets weathered out. We are definitely going back with these guys!
