Giant Rainbow Trout at Jurassic Lake in Argentina

The Trip Report:
The fishing started with an afternoon on the home Lagoon right below the lodge to get the dust knocked off of our gear and casting arms. It was AMAZING, we landed 45 fish between the 3 of us with two of the biggest brown trout I’ve ever caught in my life around 5/6 pounds. All the rainbows, browns and brook trout were between the 5 and 6 pound range with my buddy landing a 9 pounder, what a way to warm up. Jurassic lake was a little bit of a drive away but the fishing was amazing! We landed many rainbows around 12 pounds with two 18 pounders and one 20 pounder being the biggest. We landed fish up to 12 pounds in the little river dumping into the lake as well. We fished a lagoon near the lodge one day and landed over 100 fish between the two of us all between 22 and 25 inches that were fat and so full of fire they ripped line and jumped like crazy. Lodging and food were 10 out of 10 and the chef absolutely KILLED it! If you want an adventure of a lifetime and the biggest rainbow trout of your life….go to Estancia Laguna Verde!
